Understanding Batteries

On many vehicles you will see

Volts
Amp hours
Watts

If you think of the analagy of a bathtub and a drain. The Amp Hours is the size of the tub and the Volts are the size of drain. The larger the volts the faster the tub will drain. The bigger the tub the more water it has to drain.

The size of the battery is usually described as Amp Hours and Volts. More Volts means the faster it will go, but also how quickly it will drain the battery. On scooters, for example a 52V scooter will go around 34 miles per hour. A 23 AH battery will go about 40-50 miles. (If you have dual motor it cuts that in half.) A 28.8ah battery will go 50-60 miles on that same scooter.

Watts are calculated by Voltes times Amps equals Watts. The higher the watts the more power the motor has to work with.
